The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering services for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency stated it is alarmed with regard to the large amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some website large amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no entirely functional office committed to service the area each day. The company issue established for intervention ordeals a significant influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it tough with the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more resources to help the servicing of all shoppers and raise use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
